Sunny Leone in trouble? Police summons Bollywood actress for 'vulgur ad'
New Delhi, Sept 14: Adult porn star turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone might be in trouble now. Reportedly, she has been summoned over her controversial condom advertisement. Along with Sunny Leone, the Ludiyana police has also summoned representatives of a condom-manufacturing company.
As per media reports, the action was taken after an NGO Raksha Jyoti Foundation had filed a criminal complaint against her. It was alleged that ad featuring Sunny was vulgar.
Peeved over the way Sunny was promoting vulgarity, the NGO had approached Commissioner of Police Paramraj Singh Umranangal who then ordered an inquiry in the matter. The Police has given Sunny and Ad company one week time to respond over the matter and make their statements.
Speaking on the issue, Ashwani Behal, president of the Raksha Jyoti Foundation was quoted by the Tribune saying, "The TC commercial is promoting nudity on the TV channels. We have written to the Prime Minister to get its telecast stopped".
Stocking controversy, CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjan recently claimed that Sunny's condom advertisement will trigger the tendency among men to commit rapes and that it was developing sexuality and ruining sensibilities. He was criticised for his statement. Later Sunny Leone had lashed out at him on Twitter.
Writing on micro-blogging site Twitter, Leone tweeted, "Sad when people of of power waste their time and energy on me, instead of focusing on helping those in need !!!!!"
Days after this controversy, former chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women Barkha Shukla Singh also joined the 'ban bandwagon'. She also condemned the advertisement saying it serves "immorality and bad practices" to the people and urged government to immediately withdraw the commercial from TV.
