The police have arrested two persons allegedly associated with a training camp of a fundamentalist organisation, and seized 10 rifles in lower Assam's Chirang district, a senior police official said here today.

One person was arrested on Wednesday and, following his interrogation, police conducted operations this evening in Daukhanagar under Dhaligaon police station and nabbed the other person associated with the training camp, IGP L R Bishnoi told PTI.

The second arrested person, identified as Md Sayed Mia, led the police to the backyard of his house from where eight handmade AK Rifles and two handmade INSAS Rifles were recovered, Bishnoi said.

Stating the arms were found buried packed in plastic sheets, the IGP said initial interrogation has revealed that the weapons were being used to train the cadres in the camp busted by police two days back.

Earlier, three youths suspected to be associated with the same organisation and undergoing training have been apprehended on September 16 from Daukhanagar.
